The Briton 5500 lock case series includes commercial-grade, Euro-profile cylinder mortice lock cases, recognised for their durability and smooth operation, making them ideal for high-traffic doors in various building types. Briton 5500 locks feature deadbolts, sash locks, and bathroom locks that meet EN 12209 standards.

These locks feature powder-coated steel cases, stainless steel forends (either radius or square), 60mm backsets with 72mm centres, in line with BS 8300. These Briton locks come with quick-reversible latches, phosphor bronze bushes for smooth operation, hardened steel, drill-resistant deadbolts with a 22mm throw, and are certified to CE and Certifire standards. Additionally, they are fire-tested to EN 1634 for timber (up to 90 minutes) and steel (up to 4 hours).

The 5500 series is now obsolete. The products available here will be discontinued once the remaining stocks are exhausted.
